Fox News reported that a firm her husband partners with won a $2 billion state courthouse contract now challenged in court by losing bidders; Pressley is not accused of wrongdoing, and the outcome of that suit is not known.

Massachusetts held its state primary on September 1, 2026. Democratic incumbent Ayanna Pressley was unopposed in the Democratic primary (98.4%), and no Republican filed. Ballotpedia lists an independent, Kelechi Linardon, for the general election, but also lists Linardon as a candidate in the 8th District. No news report confirms Linardon qualified for the ballot in either district, and the Secretary of the Commonwealth's candidate list could not be read because of a bot check. Linardon is therefore not profiled; if Linardon is on the ballot this file is incomplete. Fox News reported after the primary that Pressley faces no opponent in November. The district covers roughly three-quarters of Boston plus Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Randolph and Somerville. Pressley considered a 2026 Senate run but announced in December 2025 that she would seek re-election to the House.
